RSGYC Feva Class take podium positions at Youth Events
02 May
The RSGYC has had great success in the FEVA class in recent events such as the Spring Open and the ISA Mitsubishi Youth Nationals.
At the recent ISA Mitsubishi Youth Nationals, the George won 2nd overall (C. Totterdell & S. Craig) and 1st Girls (Blathnaid O'Connell and Rosanna Cassidy). The FEVA class is attracting many new members (and indeed many brand new sailors) from the Topper, Optimist fleets and Laser fleets as they size up into a new boat or gain 2-Hander experience. New sailing partnerships are developing weekly in this exciting 2-handed class proving the boat to be an excellent choice for competitive sailing and great social sailing. The FEVA social scene, it is fair to say, is probably one of its key attractions!
A full programme of events and training is scheduled for the year culminating in the FEVA Worlds in Holland. The RSGYC will be well represented at the FEVA worlds with 3 boats entered to represent their Club and country such as Rosanna Cassidy & Blathnaid O'Connell, Maeve Rafferty & Clodagh Hinkson both hoping to pull off a high fleet results in a tough International Class. We wish to congratulate all our winners in the fleet and wish them the best of luck in the Worlds in Holland.
