This year Team Ireland won the Best Country award at Braassemermeer International Optimist Easter Regatta for the first time in the Netherlands. This is huge achievement for Irish team and shows the ongoing commitment, effort and training.

This is a real credit to all the sailors who have been training throughout the winter months and who have now competed at what is recognised as one of the most competitive Optimist International regattas. It is also great to see Team George flying the flag for the club and this is hopefully a sign of the things to come.
Other sailors on the team were Alacoque Daly TBSC, Sean Donnelly NYC, Douglas Elmes WHSC, Fergus Flood HYC, Conor Kneafsey NYC, Cliodhna Ni Shuillebhain KYC (First bullet).
Every sailors results counted for the Best Country ranking making it a real team effort.
A big thanks you also the Team Ireland Coach Thomas Chaix for his input and guidance to the team.
