Race Management Workshops
30 January
This spring we plan to run a series of Race Management seminars and workshops that will demystify all aspects of Race Management and provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to become a valued member of the RSGYC Race Management Team.
Race Management is the umbrella term for many aspects and roles that combine to run successful Local, National and indeed International Sailing events. We have identified a need to rebuild and add to the RSGYC Race Management Team and would like for you to help. No prior racing experience is required, and everyone is welcome both adults and juniors. We will be covering many aspects of race management such as setting a race course, wind, tide and weather conditions, time keeping and flags, recording of competitors, sound signals, results and many more. The workshops will be both theory based and practical with time spent on the water putting the theory into action.
These workshops are a great opportunity to become actively involved with your Club while also learning new skills and meeting and socialising with your fellow Club members. We have an exciting line up of Sailing events being hosted by your Club this season and would really like for as many Club members as possible to become involved. The workshops and seminars will be held over a combination of weekends and weekday evenings.
