7 Team George Juniors make the ISA Leinster Training Squads! Well done!
There was great news for our youth Laser sailors last week with the announcement of the ISA Leinster Training Squads for Winter 2011/2012. In the Laser 4.7s, the ISA selected 10 sailors from the province and no less than 5 of our Team George youths made the squad. These are: Chloe Eggers, Sandy Aplin, Patrick Cahill, Mark Bolger and Stephen Craig. In the Radial rig, there is a smaller panel of seven and we are very well represented by Dan O'Beirne and Cian Cahill.
The sailors complete 4 intensive sessions (including a 4 day clinic over Half term) before Christmas and then the ISA formulates a New Year programme. At the same time the George members avail of fantastic club training on Sundays with the likes of Mattie O'Dowd and Saskia Tidey.
Good Luck to the guys and here's hoping this is a successful stepping stone to the ISA National Squad and, who knows, the ISAF Youth Worlds after that. Either way having such a good George gang in there will certainly be good craic!
