Congratulations to all competitors on a great weekend's sailing! Well done!

After a flat calm Dublin Bay and no racing on Saturday most fleets completed six of the eight scheduled races by Monday afternoon, again light NE winds predominated over the Bay making racing tricky. However, many who were to the fore in Schull at Leg 1 of the ISA Youth Trials and Junior Pathway 2010 emerged once again at the top of there respective fleets. Matty O'Dowd (RSGYC) in the Laser Radials won both Legs while in the Junior Pathway Classes Fin Lynch (BSC) in the Topper and Brendan Lyden & Marc Cudmore (RCYC) in the RS Feva did similar. In the 420 Class Jane Butler and Jenny Andreason (RSGYC), who were 2nd in Schull, won Gold this weekend. In the Laser 4.7 Darragh O'Sullivan (KYC) won from Stepen Duke (CSC) by one point and in so doing was awarded a special training grant for his Dublin Bay 2012 Youth Worlds campaign. In the Optimist Championship Fleet Ronan Cournane (KYC) showed his strength with three wins out of four races.

In the Optimist Trials Peter McCann (RCYC) built on his impressive lead after Leg 1in Lough Derg to take the podium.

Another winner was TWITTER with constant updates from the water, with mark rounding and provisional results being up dated every few minutes, it was a great success ashore.

With 224 boats and 272 sailors representing 26 different clubs, this year's Mitsubishi Motors Youth Championship were a good test for the organisers of both the Royal St George and National Yacht Clubs who will co-host the ISAF Youth Worlds on Dublin Bay in 2012.
