Royal St. George Yacht Club

The Royal St. George Yacht Club was founded in 1838 and is one of the oldest yacht clubs in the world. The first Commodore was the Prince of Wales and it long enjoyed Royal patronage. Even now it keeps the Royal title, while living in harmony with the Republic.  The Clubhouse, built in 1842, is a classic example of 19th century architecture, principally designed by John Skipton Mulvany and later George Papworth. The dining room seats 110 persons for full dinner.  There are formal and informal bars, a specialist library and extensive changing room facilities. There are specific areas for the junior sailors, who are so important to our future development, and an extensive forecourt and balcony to enjoy the outside atmosphere.

On the water we have a sheltered inner harbour and a pontoon area that currently hold approx 50 boats. Three cranes provide lifting facilities and an adjoining pier can store trailers during events.
