A further information meeting covering the 175th Anniversary Cruise in Company will take place between 6.30pm and 8.00pm on Wednesday 8th May.

As part of the 175th birthday celebrations, the Royal St George is planning a week long Cruise in Company up the East Coast of Ireland.

A further information meeting covering the 175th Anniversary Cruise in Company will take place between 6.30pm and 8.00 pm on Wednesday 8th May. We will attempt to cover such questions you may have on the program, charts, tides or other associated matters. It is again emphasized that all Members with boats and their crews are encouraged to participate in part or all of the program.

Four stop-overs have been planned, at intervals of two days. The first is on Saturday, June 1st when we convene at Howth Yacht Club Marina for dinner among our fellow sailors on the other side of the Bay. Hopefully, this short hop will attract some of our inshore boats as well as the seagoing fleet, assuming that conditions are suitable. If conditions are not suitable the DART will be working!

The fleet will then sail on to the Marina in Carlingford Lough, where there will be an evening function on Monday 3rd. The next event takes place two day later when we dine in the lovely and historic Royal Ulster Yacht Club, just a stroll from Bangor Marina. After that, it is a short distance returning south, into Strangford Lough and the Marina at Portaferry or pontoons at Strangford village. A lunch time raft-up will take place nearby on Thursday, June 7th, after which the fleet will disperse.

Apart from the exciting social program, this short cruise will give members an opportunity to see and enjoy some of the most stunning and beautiful locations on our island. Many have visited them already, but many have not, and this cruise presents an excellent opportunity to do so the company of our friends.

All are welcome to each event separately or to more than one, by sea, rail or road. So do come and participate in some or all of the great adventure.

Please let us know at events@rsgyc.ie if you plan to come to the information evening.
