RMS ‘Queen Mary II’ The World’s Largest Ocean Liner Visits Dun Laoghaire

Thursday morning saw a flurry of activity on Dublin Bay and in Dun Laoghaire Harbour and town with the arrival of the RMS ‘Queen Mary II

Early Thursday morning she arrived, the longest, tallest and most expensive liner every built… here in Dublin Bay. The RMS ‘Queen Mary II’ anchored 1.2 nautical miles North East of the East Pier in full view of all around the Bay and created a buzz both on and off the water for her stay.

Throughout the day over 3000 of the passengers were ferried from the bay into the dedicated landing pontoons in the Coal Harbour welcomed by bagpipes before they were ferried off to various locations throughout the local area and Dublin.

The RMS ‘Queen Mary II’ weighed anchor at about 18:30 bound Holyhead, from there she will travel to Liverpool, followed by Invergordon, Stavanger in Norway and then Hamburg in Germany.
