DESCRIPTION:RSGYC Feva Summer Training Clinics 2016\nBook Online \n\nClinic 1 – Monday\, June 20th – Friday\, June 24th\nClinic 2 – Monday\, July 11th – Friday\, July 15th\nClinic 3 – Monday\, August 8th –  Friday\, August 12th\n\nThe RS Feva Ireland Association is holding 3 Summer training clinics in the Royal St. George Yacht Club\, These clinics will be headed up by the Feva Class Coach\, Stephen Craig\, with the assistance of a number of other current RS200 and recent Feva sailors. It is open to sailors from all clubs\, and of all abilities. We will have separate on and off the water coaching sessions for more experienced Feva sailors who want to improve their boat handling and tactical skills and for those who are new or newer to the class and want to learn how to sail Fevas. These clinics are open to sailors from all clubs – all are welcome. If you are interested in doing any of these Feva Clinics\, but don’t have a boat or someone to sail with let us know and we will see if that can be arranged. \nClinic 1 – Boat Handling. This clinic will focus on improving boat handling and there will be a real focus on spinnaker work.\nClinic 2 – Pre-Nationals Racing Clinic. This clinic is taking place the week before the RS Feva Irish Nationals\, which are taking place in Greystones Sailing Club from Monday\, July 18th – Wednesday\, July 20th. The focus of this clinic will be on prepared for racing\, and will incorporate the RSGYC Junior Regatta\, which takes place on July 13th. The fee for the clinic includes entry to the regatta.\nClinic 3 – Feva Adventure. The focus of this clinic will be “having fun in a Feva”! \nThe sessions will run from 9:00am – 5.00pm each day\, and lunch will be provided by the club. \nThe cost for each clinic is €175 per sailor.

SUMMARY:Toppers British Nationals
DESCRIPTION:Registration 1pm to 5pm on Saturday 6th August and sailing from 7th to the 12th August inclusive.\nThe British Nationals will be held at North Berwick – just a short trip on the train into the centre of Edinburgh which will be great for those not sailing as the Edinburgh Fringe is on at the same time as the Championships. \nIf you haven’t been there before\, here are a few things that might be useful in the early planning stages: \n\nAs a small\, beautiful town\, parking is restricted so if you are looking to rent a property\, try and book one in the actual town to save you having to find somewhere to park every day (this can be a challenge).\nThe nearest campsite is Tantallon. It is situated right on the coast\, has stunning views\, but is a cycle ride away from the town centre.\nBikes are a good thing to have with you. There is a cycle hire shop in the centre of town (more details to follow) if you don’t want to strap bikes to boat trailers.\nThe club is really welcoming but small so there will be limited changing facilities and no real showers so come prepared for this (another reason to book accommodation in town).\n\nThere will be 3 fleets again so there will be something suitable for all – no matter what their level of racing skill. If you know someone new to the sport\, let them know about the fun to be had and encourage them to join! \nEntry will be available at http://www.elyc.org.uk.

Ballyholme YC have hosted Topper events for over 20 years including many National and Provincial events but this is the first time they will host the Topper World Championships. \nENTRY\nEntry is now available via the ITCA website.\nPlease keep an eye on the ITCA website plus the Event Facebook page for the latest news. \nWHERE TO STAY\nWe recommend that you organise accommodation as early as possible to ensure that you are close to the clubhouse where a lot of social activities are planned. There are a large number of guest houses/ B&B’s and small hotels within walking distance of the club. There are also self-catering apartments and houses to rent in the local vicinity. You can book all of this through the Bangor link on the Ards and North Down tourism website. The location of the clubhouse and address details can be seen on the map below. Camping is also available at their neighbouring yacht club – Royal Ulster YC – who have also kindly offered to welcome all visiting Topper sailors to make use of their premises during the event. SUMMARY:Team Racing Training this June – August
DESCRIPTION:Book online here\nFollowing the huge level of interest in Team Racing amongst our Youth Sailors last year\, we are planning to get Team Racing training up and running again through July and August\, in preparation for the second ‘Elmo Trophy’ Junior Team racing event which will take place on 10/11 September this year. The second session will start in early August – dates have yet to be finalised for this. Following on from these training sessions\, teams will be selected to represent the RSGYC in this event. \nThe first module will start next Monday – June 27th – and will run for 3 weeks. The sessions will run from 5.30pm – 8.30pm\, using the RSGYC Fireflies\, and are open to all Junior Members aged 14 and over. Those who have team raced before will know how much fun team racing is. For those who haven’t\, come down and give it a try – and see what all the fuss is about! \nFor planning purposes\, so we know how many will be attending\, we would ask that you sign up for the training using the form below. The cost for all 3 sessions is €45\, but you can’t attend all 3 you can book in for individual sessions at a cost of €20 per session. This cost includes coaching and use of the Club boats. \nOn the form\, you will also be asked to tick a box agreeing that sailors will be responsible for any significant damage to the Club boats in the event of any serious damage occurring. It is important that the sailors appreciate that the Club are kindly giving us the use of the boats and that there are consequences in the event of serious damage.

DESCRIPTION:Book online here\nFollowing the huge level of interest in Team Racing amongst our Youth Sailors last year\, we are planning to get Team Racing training up and running again through July and August\, in preparation for the second ‘Elmo Trophy’ Junior Team racing event which will take place on 10/11 September this year. The second session will start in early August – dates have yet to be finalised for this. Following on from these training sessions\, teams will be selected to represent the RSGYC in this event. \nThe first module will start next Monday – June 27th – and will run for 3 weeks. The sessions will run from 5.30pm – 8.30pm\, using the RSGYC Fireflies\, and are open to all Junior Members aged 14 and over. Those who have team raced before will know how much fun team racing is. For those who haven’t\, come down and give it a try – and see what all the fuss is about! \nFor planning purposes\, so we know how many will be attending\, we would ask that you sign up for the training using the form below. The cost for all 3 sessions is €45\, but you can’t attend all 3 you can book in for individual sessions at a cost of €20 per session. This cost includes coaching and use of the Club boats. \nOn the form\, you will also be asked to tick a box agreeing that sailors will be responsible for any significant damage to the Club boats in the event of any serious damage occurring. It is important that the sailors appreciate that the Club are kindly giving us the use of the boats and that there are consequences in the event of serious damage.

DESCRIPTION:DBSC Combined Clubs Friday Night Junior Racing Series will be starting on 29th April until 24th June – running for 9 Fridays.\n\nJunior Series NOR 2016\nJunior Series 2016 SIs\nAmendment – Time Limits Green fleet\n\nEnter Online Here \nThis is a great way to gain racing experience and have fun at the same time. \nThere will be two races each evening in the harbour and it will have sailors from all waterfront clubs. \nThe series is available to those under 19 on 1st January 2016 and is for Optimists\, Toppers\, Lasers (Radial and 4.7)\, 29ers\, Fevas\, RS200s\, and 420. \nA hot dish/BBQ will be available for parents and sailors on Friday evenings after racing at the RSGYC. \nBarbecue and prizegiving will take place on the final day of racing – Friday 24th June in the NYC. \nA list of those who have entered so far can be viewed by clicking here.

SUMMARY:RSGYC Summer 'Sailstice' 2016
DESCRIPTION:Monday the 20th of June is the Summer Solstice\, so join your fellow Members in celebration of this day for a ‘leisurely sail’ on the Bay which we are calling the ‘RSGYC Summer Sailstice’.\nMembers and friends are encouraged to muster at the pontoons from 6:00pm – 7:00pm and depart for a leisurely sundowner cruise. All boats are welcome. This is not a race but a fun cruise to mark the longest day of the year. \nA course will be agreed upon Muster\, weather dependent. Current forecast is calling for Southerly winds from 14 – 20 knots. Fingers crossed that it will be mild and dry\, also. Picnics and refreshments are encouraged. \nIf you have no boat\, be sure to let us know and we will work to get you on-board another boat seeking crew. \nCome on down; we promise that we may be back around sundown. \nIf you plan on joining us for the Summer Sailstice\, please contact Ronan Adams\, Sailing Manager\, at sailingmanager@rsgyc.ie.

DESCRIPTION:RSGYC Feva Summer Training Clinics 2016\nBook Online\n\nClinic 1 – Monday\, June 20th – Friday\, June 24th\nClinic 2 – Monday\, July 11th – Friday\, July 15th\nClinic 3 – Monday\, August 8th –  Friday\, August 12th\n\nThe RS Feva Ireland Association is holding 3 Summer training clinics in the Royal St. George Yacht Club\, These clinics will be headed up by the Feva Class Coach\, Stephen Craig\, with the assistance of a number of other current RS200 and recent Feva sailors. It is open to sailors from all clubs\, and of all abilities. We will have separate on and off the water coaching sessions for more experienced Feva sailors who want to improve their boat handling and tactical skills and for those who are new or newer to the class and want to learn how to sail Fevas. These clinics are open to sailors from all clubs – all are welcome. If you are interested in doing any of these Feva Clinics\, but don’t have a boat or someone to sail with let us know and we will see if that can be arranged. \nClinic 1 – Boat Handling. This clinic will focus on improving boat handling and there will be a real focus on spinnaker work.\nClinic 2 – Pre-Nationals Racing Clinic. This clinic is taking place the week before the RS Feva Irish Nationals\, which are taking place in Greystones Sailing Club from Monday\, July 18th – Wednesday\, July 20th. The focus of this clinic will be on prepared for racing\, and will incorporate the RSGYC Junior Regatta\, which takes place on July 13th. The fee for the clinic includes entry to the regatta.\nClinic 3 – Feva Adventure. The focus of this clinic will be “having fun in a Feva”! \nThe sessions will run from 9:00am – 5.00pm each day\, and lunch will be provided by the club. \nThe cost for each clinic is €175 per sailor.
