VHF Radio Certificate Courses in the RSGYC

VHF Radio Certificate Courses in the RSGYC

18 April — 22 April

Book now for a Sea~Craft VHF/DSC course during April in the RSGYC.

The Irish Department of Transport Short Range Certificate (SRC), which includes Digital Selective Calling (DSC), is the appropriate certificate for most leisure craft VHF users. It is required by the Department of Transport when applying for a Ship Station licence, MMSI or EPIRB registration. It fulfils the requirements of both the ISA and the RYA for instructors and Yachtmaster exam candidates.

Many thousands of students have successfully completed the course and exam with Sea~Craft over the years. The course, which includes the use of EPIRBs, SARTs and Navtex, is completed in just one evening and one full day, the exam being held at the end of the full day session. Class numbers are small so prior booking is essential.

Sea~Craft is a Department of Transport recognised course provider and examination centre.

DETAILS OF THE COURSE:
Thursday the 18th April from 7:30 pm until 10 pm, and
Sunday the 22nd of April from 9 am until 4:30 pm; the exam starts at 4:30 pm.

Course fee €199 including the €35 examiner’s fee and €50 Dept. of Transport fee. RSGYC members €185 inclusive.

If you hold the ‘old’ Irish restricted VHF or Module 1 certificate you can upgrade to a full DSC certificate by attending just the Sunday afternoon and completing the oral test only. The course fee for an upgrade is €165 including the €35 examiner’s fee and €50 Dept. of Transport fee. RSGYC members €155 inclusive.

If you wish to book, or discuss the course, please call David at 01 286 3362 or email davidjerrard@hotmail.com.
