In conjunction with Irish Sailing we will be hosting the rescheduled Safeguarding 1 workshop on Wednesday 14th March at 18:30. This workshop is for volunteers, staff, instructors, coaches, managers and administrators who can play their part in providing a safe and enjoyable environment in which children can learn and thrive. If you volunteer your time at your Club particularly with regards to our Junior Section, or if you are a Sailing Instructor or in the process of becoming one- this is both a practical and necessary workshop.
The Royal St. George Yacht Club & Irish Sailing are committed to ensuring the well-being and safety of anyone taking part in activities run by us. We recognise that we all hold a particular responsibility towards those children and vulnerable adults who choose to participate in our sports and activities.
As part of their commitment to ensuring that all of our water sports are accessible, fun and safe for children and vulnerable adults the Irish Sailing delivers a range of information and training programmes aimed at volunteers, staff, instructors, coaches, managers and administrators from Irish Sailing Clubs and Training Centres including the Sport Ireland certified 3hr Safeguarding Courses including:
By following the principles, policy and practical guidelines contained in the Code, Junior Organisers, Committee Members and Instructors can play their part in providing a safe and enjoyable environment in which children can learn and thrive.
